EVITA |
 |
Director: Peyton Jones
September 10, 11, 17, 18*, 18, 23, 24, 25, 2010
McFaddin
Ward Theatre
Argentina's controversial First Lady is the subject
of this dynamic musical masterpiece, featuring music
by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice.
Eva Peron, "saint to the working-class, reviled by
the aristocracy and mistrusted by the military" was
destined to leave a fascinating political legacy
unique in the 20th century. Told through a
compelling score that fuses haunting chorales with
exuberant Latin, pop and jazz influences, EVITA
creates an arresting theatrical portrait as complex
as the woman herself. |

Bram Stoker's
famous novel has been dramatized into a spell-binding 3-act
play by Tim Kelly. It retains all the suspense, horror, and
enchantment always associated with the world's most infamous
vampire. "One of the most gripping stage plays ever
written...a chillingly delightful dramatization." |

Art
concerns the cataclysmic effect on three friends, Serge,
Marc, and Yvan, when Serge purchases an expensive work of
abstract art—a large painting consisting of white lines on a
white canvas. As the three men engage in an ongoing debate
over the value of the painting, emotions run high and the
conflict escalates to the point of nearly destroying a
long-standing friendship.

Noises
Off takes a fond look at the follies of theatre
folk, whose susceptibility to out-of-control egos,
memory loss and passionate affairs turn every
performance into a high-risk adventure. This
comedy-within-a-comedy captures a touring theatre
troupe’s production of Nothing On in three stages:
dress rehearsal, the opening performance, and a
performance toward the end of the run. Noises Off is
a backstage farce of slamming doors, falling
trousers and flying sardines!

A
contemporary song-cycle musical that ingeniously
chronicles the five year life of a marriage, from
meeting to break-up... or from break-up to meeting,
depending on how you look at it. The Last Five Years
is an intensely personal look at the relationship
between a writer and an actress told from both
points of view.

Director: Paula Bothe
May 13, 14, 20, 21*, 21, 26, 27, 28, 2011
McFaddin Ward Theatre
It all
begins when a die-hard musical-theater fan plays his
favorite cast album on his turntable, and the
musical literally bursts to life in his living room,
telling the rambunctious tale of a brazen Broadway
starlet trying to find, and keep, her true love.
Winner of 5 Tony Awards in 2006.
